Welcome!

This new community is the place for you to share ideas, discuss issues, and showcase best practices that attract young adult members and their financial business.

It's also a social networking sandbox - a place for you to play around and get comfortable with the technology that a majority of young adults are using.

How to get started:

1. Set up your profile.
2. Join a group.
3. Read and post comments then respond to others' in the forums.
4. Make friends and write on their profile wall.
5. Invite colleagues to participate.
6. Better serve young adults.

Curious about what you can post here on the Community? Simply put, if it's credit union related, go for it! Think twice if your post has nothing to do with the demographic and/or credit unions. For more info, check out the Forum Guidelines and Photo Guidelines.

iPhone & Smartphone Apps for Mobile Banking

Does anyone have, or is anyone looking to do an iPhone app for their Mobile Banking product? Did you create it in house or pay someone? If done outside what company/agency did you use to create it?...

Social Media – The Digital Manifestation of Word-of-Mouth

I would love to hear unique ways that credit unions are using social media outlets. In particular, Twitter and Facebook. If your credit union has a Twitter or Facebook account, please feel free to share the link here and/or share about how it is working for you.

Today, 7-23-09, I was reading in the New York Times about Curtiss Kimball. Kimball owns a crème brulee cart in San Francisco. His business has been so successful that he quit his day job as a carpenter to keep up with demand. He attribu… Continue

This is a great story to tuck in the back of our pockets as we seek to spread positive news about credit unions.

In my experience, it took some time for our following of actual young adults to grow. As with Brad's situation, a large portion of followers were other credit unions or personal finance related Web sites. But as time went on, and we refined our ap...

Hi Fego, We've started using Twitter with limited success. We have a 136 followers, but I'd say 90% are other credit unions, CUSOs, and especially vendors. We promise only one tweet a week, which seems to sit well with members. I spoke with a ma...

This is an interesting story, J.D. Certainly unethical to the Nth degree, but I was a little surprised to find that it is also illegal. Thanks for posting!

Photo & Video Guidelines

In order to promote personal expression, stay true to the purpose of the Community, make it easier to find photos you’re looking for, and manage the limited amount of bandwidth, I’m asking that members:

o limit the number of personal photos to a profile photo and 4 others,

o limit the number of credit union photos to 20

To clarify, personal photos are identified as anything non-credit union related. Also, please post only credit union or young adult related videos to the Community.

Please adjust your profile to fit these guidelines

Want more information on why these guidelines are established? Check out the Photos Discussion in the Forum and leave your thoughts, questions, and comments.

Thanks in advance,

Josh Jones.
